February 25, 2010 {boxes}

This is our garage currently. Sad thing is, there is more stuff in the house. We have unpacked some stuff, but man, is it hard. I know everything had a place in the old house, so it should here....right?? If not, it's going. Stay tuned if you are looking for some house stuff :)

February 24, 2010 {big rig!}

The top picture is of me driving the Uhaul. It was scary trust me. It wasn't so bad on the long, straightaway interstate, but man oh man, trying to take a turn whhoooeeee... We had to stop at the Agricultural Checkpoint and the officer asks me, "are you moving?" Knowing better, I said yes. What I wanted to say was reminiscent of Bill Engvall. "Nope, I rent Uhauls and drive up and down the interstate for fun."

The second picture is of the traffic jam we had to deal with before we even left Jacksonville. We stayed in that traffic for nearly an hour.

February 23, 2010 {supastars!)

We were lucky enough to let the babies go see Matt's grandparents. These two people are amazing, wonderful, and the best people ever. They have done so much for us without a word. They just do. Because that is the way they are. They love us and the babies like I have never seen. I love them. They bought the babies these glasses and they had a great time playing with them. These are a few pictures I snapped.

February 22, 2010 {moooovvvviiinnnggg!!}

This is the truck we had to rent. I wasn't sure we would need to get one this big, Matt was near positive. We did. Seriously, I can't even believe our stuff goes all the way to the door. And we have to drive it 4 1/2 hours to get home.

February 21, 2010 {monkeys!}

Some time at the beginning of my day I think about what I'm doing and what picture opportunities there will be. Whenever I talk about P365, people love the idea. I love the idea and sometimes I get to the end of the day and get upset if I haven't taken a picture. My days aren't that exciting, but sometimes, SOME thing happens that just a picture is a must take. Today started out a slow picture day but holy cow did it speed up in a hurry! We went to have Brunch at Matt's restaurant and watched the ducks. We went to Michael's and they had felt animal hats that are adorable and the kids love. At my mom and dad's they were playing in the trees, pulling up the weeds and just being cute. And then there was a rainbow. So what is my picture of today? Man, if this is the toughest decision I ever have to make, I'm ok with it :)

February 20, 2010 {child's play}

I took the babies to dinner at Burger King (more for the play area than the food). After eating we played for a little bit. Brayden climbed up the slide even after repeated attempts by me to keep him off and Ava just can't help posing.

February 19, 2010 {big boy bed}

So I realized that most of my pics of Little Man are of him sleeping and most of my Ava pictures are of her eating. BUT. I couldn't resist this one. Brayden in his own bed, a big boy bed, after months of a pack and play and sharing a bed with Ava, or me and Matt. Thomas and everything!! Oh and he sleeps so well in it. I'm so proud of him!

February 18, 2010 {flat}

So this morning Matt and I had off and we were determined to sleep in. We all know babies can sniff that out faster than a dog looking for a rabbit. Or whatever dogs look for. Anyways, the babies were up pretty early and of all the things we don't have here, one is the coffee maker. So I told Matt I was going to Starbucks, right up the road. As I'm driving, I hear a really funky noise. I slow down. Noise gone. Speed up...it's back and getting louder. I pull into the parking lot debating drive through or walk in and figure I need to find out what is making that noise. Thinking something is not closed, or hanging out I climb out of the car. As I'm turning to close the door, I see it. The tire is flat. Like GEICO Pothole flat. So I go in and order my coffee (and a banana chocolate chip coffee cake-hey, my tire is FLAT.) and ask to use the phone. One of the lovely baristas let me use hers to call Matt who tells me I have to walk home to stay with the babies so he can go up there and fix it. I do. And he tells me as I'm walking up the stairs (oh the stairs.) "You really walked?? I was kidding, why didn't you call your mom?" Sheesh. Not a big deal, the walk wasn't that bad, better with sidewalks, but I don't expect to do it that often. Alas, an unexpected expense just days after moving into our new house.

February 17, 2010 {The bane of my existence. Momentarily.}

Oh, the stairs. All the babies want to do is go up and down and back up again. And then down. It's driving me crazy! We get to the bottom because Ava says she wants something and it's all a ruse to get down just to be able to go back up again. She is constantly asking, "can I go upstairs???" Brayden just goes. He scares me more than she does, because she's pretty good at it, but I just don't want them playing on it. We have a gate at the top, but our walk through gate isn't wide enough. I'm just hoping the novelty of stairs will wear off. Although if I don't lose weight living here, I'm destined to be big forever...

February 16, 2010 {where I LIVE}

This is the living room and the kitchen. It's empty because everything that belongs in it is in storage.. But it is our living room, our kitchen and it is ready to be full of our stuff!

February 15, 2010 {HOME, Sweet home!!}

Today Matt brought the lease home for our new place. We went to see it after work. This is the outside, and yesit would look better in the daylight, but work with me, we get off late :). It's a townhome with three bedrooms, 2.5 baths. We have a one car garage and a ridiculous amount of storage! All we are waiting for is our stuff from Jacksonville. Oh, and where should I put my scrapbook stuff???

February 14, 2010 {the dog on the fence}

I am a lucky person in that I live very near my best friend (within walking distance of my mom's). Today we took a walk to visit her. This dog lives along our route. He jumps onto-but not over- the fence and balances and barks. Kinda scary, but what a sight, huh? And I Know he looks like he is just jumping up. But zoom in. He's standing there. Trust me. I see him every time we walk over there.

Apology

I know you are all waiting on edge for new 365 pics and I'm sorry. We found and moved into a place in jus a few days and have been trying to finish moving and situating. We are still on bare minimum because the majority of our stuff is in storage. We don't have a computer yet in our new home so although I'm taking pictures they aren't being posted. Hopefully tonight I can catch up! Stay tuned for dogs on fences, flat tires and new house! I'm posting this from my phone so I'm sorry for any wierdness!

February 13, 2010 {what a week at work}

So this week my boss and his wife (who are also old friends) went to see their son, a chef in Seattle, cook at the James Beard House in NYC. Needless to say, they aren't back yet. So for the past three days we have had to work a lot more to make sure we kept both stores up and running. It has had me working like crazy! Today was no exception...I was scheduled to work tonight at the restuarant. I ended up having to work this morning at the deli/to go place. As I was sweeping and finishing up, I moved a table that I had mopped under. The table didn't move. The pan of sauce on top did. It slid off the table and went EVERYWHERE. *see shirt above* I even found it in my hair. As I'm finishing up cleaning, they call from the other restaurant and want me to come over for about an hour because they had a large table make reservations. Yeah. I'm tired. But Ava was oh so willing to help me hold up my shirt. Because to you, it's a shirt. To me, it explains the entire week. Splattered, a mess, exhausted, and DONE.

February 12, 2010 {snow and ice!}

We took a short trip up into Alabama to see snow. Matt said so the kids could see it, but I think it was for him mostly :). It was neat, and a little scary because we had never driven in snow. I know it's nothing like what most of the country has seen, but the last time I saw snow??? 1992. Yeah, thanks. AND it wasn't even this much. We went to eat and were told the city was closing the roads soon so we had to get the heck outta Dodge (well, Andalusia, anyways)! Ava got so excited, "snow! Snow! Snow!" And I asked her, "You know who lives in the snow, right?" She answered, "SANTA!!" I didn't let her stay out long because she didn't have gloves, but she enjoyed it anyways. On our way back it snowed, but didn't stick around. And now...it's gone.

February 11, 2010 {babysitting fun!}

One of the girls I work with has a young daughter who falls right between my two. She needed someone to watch her while she worked. We work alternating shifts and since my boss is still out of town, I had to work last night, so we switched. These three were together ALL. DAY. LONG. They had the best time, and even though she and I were worn out, we enjoyed it too. This was a quiet moment (a second or so) where they were all watching tv. ahhh...And then it was over.

February 10, 2010

The babies' easel. The other side is a chalkboard. They love it! It's fun to watch Ava play and hear her talk about what she is drawing...whether it looks like it or not :)

February 9, 2010

Today Matt had the day off so we took the kids and just went out. We do that sometimes. We drove and drove and ended up in Navarre, about 30-45 minutes away. We stop in a beach parking lot and I Figure my picture today will just be the angry storm clouds over the unsettled water. Sounds good, right? Well, this is a prime example of how fun this 365 project is and how thankful I am I always have my camera.

We are just about to leave and I see this little guy sitting. Or laying down, whatever you call it when ducks aren't standing. All of the other gulls are up milling around, so I told Matt to snap a picture of this guy. Then, he stands up. And he only has one leg. I am not kidding. I took like 10 pictures because I wanted to make sure I had enough proof. I even got really close. This wasn't even on zoom. Now, I giggled and really thought this little guy was cool. For some reason, I didn't feel sorry for him. He has adapted to what he does. He obviously isn't wanting for food, he was surrounded by gull "friends," and he lives ON THE BEACH! I think this may be my inspiration picture for a lot of things. Just look at this guy.

Ok, I might be overdoing it. But seriously.

February 8, 2010 {taxes done!}

For the past 3 years I have gone to get my taxes done. I'm not sure why, because I really don't have much to do, but it makes me feel better, I guess. So today, we went to get my taxes done and now...we wait...But it's nice to know they are done!

February 7, 2010 {chicken chicken bawk bawk}

The Super Bowl was today (and unless you live under a rock, that is not news to you!), and a tradition at my parents' house is to make wings. So wings it was for dinner! Trust me, there were more, I just didn't get my camera out fast enough! A song my daugher loves to sing is "chicken chicken bawk bawk" and flaps her wings. She's such a ham, she asked me to take the picture.

And show off her wings for me.
And Little Man is all about some wings. Well, food period.

February 6, 2010 {construction}

SUPER BOWL!!! On one of my 365 groups, the ladies were talking about doing Super Bowl decorations and centerpieces. I decided to "lift" the idea and this is what I came up with. The thinking through part was really the hardest. It was hard to decide how to cut and use the floral foam, I didn't want a vase because I really just wanted them to be able to be thrown away, and I didn't know what I needed to cut because I didn't know what it would look like. But I couldn't really design anything without knowing what I was cutting. AAACKK!!! But at the last minute (1am this morning) these came together. I know they are very amatuerish, but they are my first centerpieces ever. My husband is taking them to his work to use for decorations. Funny, I like the Saints one better, but the Colts one photographed better. All the glitter maybe??

February 5, 2010 {the real PINK}

Last night, Anna's friend was playing with his band at Fishlips (my husband's restaurant). I work with Anna and Matt, the two in the bottom picture with me. This was going to be my Picture today. HOWEVER....Matt ordered a Fishbowl and wanted the girliest one (no clue why) and he got the pink one! Anna and I decided that THAT had to be my picture for Friday, February 5. But I wanted to share the second one anyways :)

Dirty Scraps challenge 2

At Dirty Scraps, the new challenge is to scrap a pivotal moment, good or bad. What was a time your life changed? I scrapped about the time I found out I was pregnant. My life had already changed by the time I had my baby, so it was at the moment that I saw that "Little Blue Line."

The journaling reads:

My life changed with that LITTLE BLUE LINE. I wasn't married, hadn't known him that long, I partied, lived like a single 20 something. All of a sudden, I had another to take care of. I had to tell my Dad...My single life became a family life. I cried when I found out. Scared. This wasn't a puppy or a boyfriend break up. My life wasn't changing, it jumped the tracks. Nothing, now, is for me. Every decision is affected by my children. They will become who they are because of me. As I have become who I am because of them.

February 4, 2010 {pink}

My daughter has a blanket, like most children do. This is so cherished to her. She will wake up in the middle of the night and if she can't find it, she'll wake anyone else up to find it. Daycare wouldn't let us leave her if we ever forgot it! She's crazy about it! Luckily, most of the time she only needs it to sleep, but we can tell if she isn't feeling well, because she will have it with her!

February 3, 2010-Dare 2

As I told you before, hubby and I have started "The Love Dare." It's such a good book and so much fun to see what is coming up next. I love the way it explains love in each little facet and it gives you a not impossible way to share it with your spouse. The cooler thing? They build off of each other so it's just natural to fall into and complete the next dare. This was for Day 2, Love is Kind. The dare was to do a random act of kindness for your spouse. My husband came home late after work and when I opened the door, he had these for me. I love them. He used to bring me flowers to my work when I was a teacher all the time and it just sort of fell to the side. So this was definitely a nice surprise :)

February 2, 2010 {excited}

Every time we go to a buffet, the first thing Ava asks for is ice cream. Of course, we tell her she has to eat real food first, but it always comes back to ice cream! I don't remember learning HOW to eat an ice cream cone, but from watching her, I figured someone had to teach me! So we spent part of lunch teaching the art of ice cream cone eating. It was fun, albeit messy. It may take a few more practice rounds before we get this!

February 1, 2010 {state of...mind. being. love}

First of all, congratulations to all my 365 friends (that would be the ones participating, I don't have that many friends)! We made it a month!! Another week of awesome themes, and I'm really going to work hard to make sure I use them. I had already picked today's picture when the themes came out, but I think this one fits well.

I don't feel bad saying this, because I'm sure many can say the same at one point or another but Matt and I struggle sometimes. His job his hard. On all of us. I am very proud of him, I really am, but it takes so much time away from us and when he is here he is so tired. But I know he is doing it for us and he does love his job. As I was browsing one night in the book section I came across "The Love Dare." It is the book that was used in the movie Fireproof. I have yet to see the movie, but both Matt and I expressed interest in seeing it. I didn't buy it immediately, wanting to see what Matt said about it. He was on board, and that made me excited! So today was day one, Patience, and can I tell you how hard that is? The "dare" today was to not say anything mean or negative towards your spouse. Be patient with them. I'll let you know how the rest of the Dare goes :)

January 31, 2010 {little man, big shirt}

Little Man copies his sister in much of what she does. She had this shirt on before and as soon as it was off, he had to have it on. It belongs to their daddy, from his restaurant. He slept his entire nap wearing this shirt and even a few minutes after he got up. I couldn't resist this cute picture of him engulfed in his daddy's shirt!

***UPDATE***

The rat in previously mentioned posts? Found. By my mother. In the morning, I heard stuff hitting around in the garage, and I thought maybe my dad kept dropping things from the attic. Finally, I decided to check it out. I open the door and there stands my mom petrified. I have never seen her so scared or pale before. She was screaming and squealing and all she kept saying was "get your dad!!" The rat was close to a foot long WITHOUT his tail. He had left a blood trail through the garage and it was awful. My dad said he had to have weighed half a pound at least. Holy rats. I wanted my POTD to be my mom but she said if I had come back with a camera she would have thrown the rat at me. Glad I chose not too. :)

January 30, 2010 {cookie!}

My dad has special cookies that he eats, they are the vanilla sandwich cookies, I don't know the brand name. They are special because there are only certain times Ava can have one and the only person she shares them with is her Opa (what she calls my dad). This was a late night cookie, but my dad can never say no to Ava!

January 29, 2010 {for sale}

I took this picture because it was the house we were hoping to move into. Not long term, but long enough that we were out of my parents' house. It is right across the street, but we were getting such a good deal, we had to try to get it. In the shuffling of our feet, I found out yesterday (Sunday) they had rented it already. No one's fault but our own.
